Elario Lozano

The teacher, Elario Lozano, studied guitar since an early age.  He studied rudiments and theory at St. Mary's University in San Antonio and minored in music at New York University in New York City.  Classical Guitar studies followed with Sophocles Papas, a pupil of Andres Segovia, at the Guitar Academy in Washington, D.C. Elario has studied abroad in Madrid, Spain at the Conservatory of Madrid.  He tutored under Saenz De La Maza, Master in Residence.  Elario is also proficient in the art of Flamenco Guitar which he leaned from the masters in Spain.  He has traveled extensively in Europe, Canada, the Unisted States, Mexico and South America as a professional musician and is acquainted with many guitar styles,  Mr. Lozano has taught guitar in New York at several studios and privately in New Orleans, where he resided for 20 years.  He has taught in Hall's Musik Studios since the early 1990s.  Several of his students have gone on to major in guitar at the university level and become successful in their art.  Mr. Elario holds annual studio recitals to encourage his students to perform.
